ICEYE, a world leader in satellite-based synthetic aperture radar (SAR) operations for high-fidelity Earth observation, announced today that it will provide data from its SAR satellites to the NATO Headquarters Situation Centre (SITCEN).

Through this partnership, SITCEN will gain access to ICEYE’s operations, enabling it to provide decision-makers with critical data for better and faster assessments. The first-ever NATO-ICEYE partnership will expand the Alliance’s access to valuable Earth observation data, using ICEYE’s advanced technology.

Over the past decade, the role of the commercial space industry has become increasingly important for national security and defence. As a trusted partner to many governments and organisations, ICEYE has already provided many NATO and NATO-friendly countries with SAR data and satellites.

“ICEYE provides high-accuracy SAR satellite imaging and data to support situational awareness and decision making in defence and security settings. We are proud of the opportunity to cooperate and support NATO users and decision-makers with data from the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation, owned and operated by ICEYE,” said Pekka Laurila, Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder of ICEYE.

ICEYE owns and operates the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation, providing its customers with access to imagery with resolution down to 25 centimeters from anywhere on Earth, regardless of weather conditions and day or night conditions. To date, ICEYE has launched 48 SAR satellites into orbit to serve its own and its customers’ needs.
